Face-to-Face Evaluation

GIM conducts a face-to-face evaluation round as a part of its admission process for the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program. This round was an essential component of the selection process and provided an opportunity for shortlisted candidates to interact with the institute’s faculty and admission committee. The face-to-face evaluation consists of a personal interview (PI) carrying 30% weightage.

The face-to-face evaluation round typically takes place at GIM’s campus, where candidates were invited for further assessment after clearing the initial screening based on their CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT scores (depending on the exam they appeared for).

The evaluation round consists of various activities, such as:

Group Discussions (GD):
Candidates are divided into groups and given a specific topic for discussion. The admission committee observes the candidates’ communication skills, group dynamics, and ability to present their perspectives effectively.

Personal Interviews (PI): Each candidate appears for a one-on-one interview with the interview panel. The PI aims to assess the candidate’s personality, problem-solving abilities, leadership potential, and alignment of career goals with the institute’s program.

Written Ability Test (WAT): GIM includes a Written Ability Test, where candidates were asked to write an essay or short response on a given topic to evaluate their written communication skills.

GIM Goa Admissions 2024 Selection Process

The selection process for the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) MBA program typically involves the following stages:

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria specified by GIM, which usually includes a bachelor’s degree with a minimum percentage or CGPA from a recognized university or institution.

Entrance Exam: Candidates need to appear for a relevant management entrance exam, such as CAT (Common Admission Test) conducted by IIMs, XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test), GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), or CMAT (Common Management Admission Test).

Application: Interested candidates need to apply to GIM by filling out the application form available on their official website during the application window.

Shortlisting:
GIM shortlists candidates based on their performance in the entrance exam and other criteria as per the institute’s policy.

Written Ability Test (WAT) and Group Discussion (GD): Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Written Ability Test and Group Discussion.

Personal InterviewCandidates who perform well in the WAT and GD are further called for a Personal Interview.

Final Selection: The final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in the entrance exam, WAT, GD, and PI, along with academic background and relevant work experience (if applicable).

GIM Goa PGDM Admissions 2024 Cut-off

Goa Institute of Management does not have any set score requirements for its entrance exams requirements. The business school only requires students to present a ‘valid score’. However, the scores make up for 40% of the total shortlisting process and hence students need to record a competitive entrance exam score to make it through the admissions process.

This means that while their score can be high, if other applicants have a higher score, then they have a better chance to get selected for further admissions rounds. It is hence important that the score submitted presents a competitive edge to the student. As a guide, students are strongly encouraged to at least present a score ranging between 70-90 percentile for GIM GOA PGDM admissions 2024.
