To be eligible for direct admission in VIT Vellore, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- The candidate belonging to the general category must have cleared their class 12 board examination or equivalent with a minimum aggregate percentage of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
*Candidate belongs to SC/ST hailing from Jammu & Kashmir/ Ladakh and the Northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura, scoring to 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology is required.

- Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2002 are eligible to apply for direct admission in VIT Vellore.
- Applicant should be a Resident/Non-Resident Indian National/ROI. However, NRI applicants can directly apply under the “NRI category” through the application form. Similarly foreign applicants who studied or studying abroad can apply directly through an international application form.

- Students should go to the graduation or Its equal examination from a recognised Board/University/College.

VIT Vellore Selection Criteria
- Based on the rank a candidate secures after giving CBT (Computer Based Test) the VITEEE 2024, selection is done.
- With a rank, students can participate in online counselling and can select the campus, program and category of fees. However, allotment will be made based on the rank obtained and the options available then.
- Students having rank upto 1 Lakh are eligible for counselling to Vellore and Chennai campus.

VITEEE Counselling 2024 Process
The counselling procedure for allocating different branches of engineering is based on the All India Rank in VITEEE 2024. Eligible students must register for counselling on the website of VIT. Only the registered aspirants can attend the VITEEE Counselling 2024 round. You have to download your provisional letter for counselling form the official website.
Candidates must follow the below steps to participate in VITEEE Counselling 2024:
Step 1: Registration
- Candidates have to Register for VITEEE Counselling 2024 and reach on time at your counselling centre.
- Candidates will be informed through SMS or email about the schedule of VITEEE Counselling 2024.
Step 2: Document Verification
- Visit the required VITEEE Counselling Centre will all the required documents.
- Only after the successful verification of documents, you will be considered for further steps.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
- Slot and day-wise vacant seats will be updated by VIT.
- Candidates will be allotted seats as per their VITEEE rank, preference of course and college, and number of available seats. Allotment of branch and Campus is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
- The candidate must decide for certain whether he wants to join the program based on the branch allotted to him before paying the fees.
Step 4: Fees Payment
- After the confirmation of seat from the counselling authority, you have to confirm your seat by paying the course fees.
VITEEE 2024 Counseling fee
- The candidates who will be called for counselling have to pay an amount of Rs 10,000/- as Counseling fee (non-refundable).
- The same will be adjusted in the tuition fee when a candidate joins the University.
- Once the candidate’s seat will be confirmed then they have to submit the Demand Draft for Rs. 50,000/- in favour of VIT University, payable at Vellore.
- This will include the counselling fee of Rs. 12,000/-.
VITEEE 2024 Documents Required for Verification
Candidates must produce the following documents for verification in original along with two photocopies, at the specified VITEEE Counselling Centre. Any candidate without these documents cannot participate in the counselling process. The list of documents is given below:

- Class 10th mark sheet
- Class 12th mark sheet or Hall Ticket (in case mark sheet is not available)
